Ace broadcaster and a leading aspirant from the All Progressive Congress(APC) for the covetous seat of the House of Representative for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Ademola Alalade has identified transparency, accountability and respect for rule of law as key ingredients to achieving good governance.
Alalade who stated this in a statement today while reacting to the state of affairs in the country noted that Nigerians have been deprived of good governance over the years as a result of those in position of authorities not been able to give good account of their stewardship to the people.

He said public office holders over the years have not been held accountable for mismanagement and corruption and this has created a trust deficit on the part of government whereby many Nigerians have lost hope in those managing the resources of the country, and the anti corruption agencies like the EFCC and the ICPC who have always been compromised.
Alalade said for the country to experience good governance, Government institutions should function effectively without excessive reliance on individuals. He affirmed that for good governance to thrive in a society like Nigeria, the Judiciary has a big role to play saying that arm of government should independent and free from any form of political pressure.
He also was of the opinion that in as much as Nigerians look forward to well structured system of government, civil service reforms will be needed, while the legislative arm of governmet must have the will power to check the excesses of the executive arm.
He further stressed the need for public participation and inclusivity in the process of establishing good governance which he said will be through effective participation in elections, town hall meetings and other civic engagements where policies affecting the needs of all groups including the vulnerable people are adequately addressed.
Above all Alalade noted that Government must create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive as this is what many Nigerians are yearning for and this can only be achieved through effective leadership and political will.
