Oyo NOA Boss, Dosunmu Calls For Effective Communal Policing

The Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu has emphasised the need for a working synergy between the men and officers of Nigeria Police Force and members of the public.

Mrs Dosunmu stated this at the the investituture and award ceremony put together by the Police Community Relations Committee  (PCRC) Oyo state police command held at Owu crown hotel, Monatan Ibadan.

She said there is a need for people to go back to the old traditional value of positive interference where neighbours and leaders in the community shows concern on the well being and positive characters of every residents irrespective of their differences.

Mrs Dosunmu decried the present situation of “I don’t care” that has pervaded the atmosphere in the communities adding that this can no longer helps the larger society of instilling discipline and right values into the coming generations.

The Oyo NOA Director described the efforts of the PCRC as a good example of what effective community policing should be and calls on residents of Oyo State to continue to support the police in ensuring adequate security of lives and properties in Oyo state.

In his message at the event, the Oyo State police commissioner, Sina Olukolu assured residents of the command readiness to rid the state of all forms of criminal activities.

He commended Mrs Dosunmu effort in her relentless and continued public sensitisation of issues in the society urged her not to relent in such innovations and programmes.

Earlier, the Chairman (PCRC) Oyo state police command Rev Peter Omofoye said the programme was put together to honour those that had contributed immensely to the crime prevention in the state.

The state police commissioner was later decorated and presented with a certificate by Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu assisted by the PCRC Chairman, Rev Peter Omofoye.
