In the wake of the growing Covid -19 Pademic that has caught the world unawares and has killed so many people and still ravaging the world, Oyo State indigenes in the UK has called on the State government and indeed the Federal Government to do more to curtail the spread of the silent killer Corona Virus.

In a statement released today in London by the Chairman of the group Mr Ademola Alalade, the umprecedented pandemic requires an unprecedented measures to slow the spread of this disease which has claimed many lives in different countries of the world.

Many countries facing this pandemic are already heading towards total lockdown to save the lives of the many people who are vulnerable and are still not taking the spread of this virus seriously.

Mr Alalade urged the state government under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde to as a matter of urgency ban any social gathering in the state, close all shops and places of worship and enforce the principle of social distancing in a way to protect lives of citizens.He also urged the state Government to set up adequate isolation and test centres in the state to adequately deal with the virus pandemic to ensure the state is ready to face the threat the deadly virus poses.

He noted that the UK has already announced a complete lockdown of the country as Boris Johnson passionately announced to citizens to stay at home to save the countries over stretched health service The NHS, one of the worlds best heath service
