Former Governor of Oyo State and a strong leader of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Alao Akala has died at the age of 71.

The very respected Ogbomosho born Politician who served as the Governor of Oyo State between2007 and 2011 will be remembered for his numerous contributions to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

He was said to have died in the early hours of today in his home town in Ogbomosho.

Alao Akala contributed immensely to the restructuring of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State and his demise will have a great impact on the State structure of the party even as they prepare for the National convention next month
