An Aspirant of the All Progressive Congress from Ibadan North Constituency 2 during the 2019 general election for a sit in the Oyo State House of Assembly Mr Ademola Alalade has reaffirmed that for the much sought peace to return to the fold of the Oyo Apc, true and sincere reconciliation must take place amongs aggrieved members of the party or else nothing concrete will be achieved within the opposition party in the state.

He stated this in his Ramadan goodwill message to members of the party and the people of Oyo state.

He said for APC to be a force to be reckoned with in Oyo State, the party needs to reposition itself and this can only be achieved if there is peace and understanding amongs its members which can then be translated to the people of the state.

Alalade who noted that though mistakes were made before, during and after the 2019 general election, lessons must have been learnt and those mistakes should be reviewed critically, and mitigation plans put in place to forestall a reoccurence of such mistakes in the future.

He said further that without a solid and sincere unity amongs the party members, there is no way the party will progress and thrive in Oyo State if the truth must be told.

He however called on all party stakeholders in the state to let bye gones be bye gone and in the interest of the party, channel a course for repositioning the party towards future general elections in the state. He noted that for the party to make any gains in the state in the nearest future, members must be seen speaking from one voice and acting as one family. Anything short of that will be disastrous for the party

Alalade however called on all party members to fully support the newly appointed national Vice Chairman (South) of the All progressive Congress and the immediate past Governor of the state Senator Abiola Ajimobi who has already acknowledged and apologised on behalf of himself and other party members for any mistake made in the past that must have set the party aback.

He enjoined all to cooperate with the newly constituted 16 member reconciliation committee set up by the Deputy National Chairman, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and headed by a former Governor in the state Chief Adebayo Alao Akala to sincerely and genuinely look in to the crisis rocking the APC in Oyo state and reconcile all aggrieved party members.

Alalade further stated that the committee should be fair in all their dealings and must not be seen to be biased in any way to fully achieve the desired result that will be acceptable to all party stakeholders in the state.

He however used the opportunity to congratulate all members of the party and all the Muslim communities in the state on the Ramadan celebrations and urged them to continue maintain social distancing, maintain good hygeine by washing hands regularly to curtail the spread of the coronavirus ( COVID-19) pandemic, that is ravaging the world at this unprecedented times so as to keep everyone safe.
