A frontline leader of the Pan- Yoruba socio- political organisation Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has described the threat warning issued recently by the Directorate of State Security (DSS), that a group of misguided politicians are clamouring for an interim National government as reckless and baseless

Chief Adebanjo who stated this while responding to questions during a TV interview program noted that the act displayed by the security agency does not show credibility and efficiency of the outfit. He noted that the DSS should have gathered information secretely and go after those responsible for the irresponsible act.

While the elder statesman was reacting to the outcome of the 2023 election and the state of the nation, Adebanjo expressed his dissatisfaction with the conduct and outcome of the election noting that there were lapses which is now been challenged in the election tribunal court.

He said the candidates of the Labour Party Peter Obi and that of the PDP Atiku Abubakar have done the right thing to challenge the result of the election in court which according to Adebanjo is the right step in the right direction

Adebanjo who urged Nigerians to be civil in their daily conduct while they await the outcome of the election petition, expressed his belief in the Judiciary urging them to restore the confidence Nigerians have in the Judicial system.

In his final words Adebanjo reiterated that there can never be peace without justice and for the Stability of the country, the Judiciary must play their part effectively.
