ALALADE TO MAKINDE: BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PEOPLE YOU GOVERN

The chairman Oyo State Indigenes in the UK and an Aspirant from Ibadan North local government constituency 2 in the 2019 general election for the State house of Assembly, Ademola Alalade has called on the State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde to make his government more accountable to the people of the state.

This is coming in the wake of the series of security challenges facing the state where citizens are being subjected to living in perpetual fear due to the killings and kidnapping of innocent citizens.

Alalade who said “The people of Oyo State voted for you to protect their interest and as such you should be accountable to them in all areas of governance which includes their security”

Alalade who expressed disappointment in the way the security of the state has deteriorated from what it used to be under the watch of the former governor Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi called on the current administration of Seyi Makinde to as a matter of urgency put in place adequate security measures that will ensure continuous protection of lives and property in the state.

He also called on the Governor to develop a robust information strategy that will enable his administration connect with the people for them to be more informed on government programmes that focuses on their well being.

He urged him to make use of the numerous media outfits within the state to pass across regular information to the people government is of the people, by the people and for the people.

He then called on the people of the state most especially the youths to continue to maintain peace and orderliness and not allow them to be used as agents of destruction, but rather maintain sanity in the state.
