Ther Association of Oyo State Indigenes UK have described the death of the former Governor of the state Senator Abiola Ajimobi as disheartening and a great loss to the State and the country.
The group while reacting to the shocking demise of the statesman described him as a compatriot anddedicated leader who was very passionate about the growth and development of Oyo state.
According to the condolence message issued by the Chairman of the Association Mr Ademola Alalade on behalf of the entire citizens of the state in the United Kingdom, former Governor Ajimobi gave his all while serving as a two term Governor in the state and his tenure saw a massive transformation and the return of peace to the state and this has helped the state to regains its position as a pace setter state.
The group also described the late Ajimobi as a true progressive, a man of many parts aand above all a father and a role model whose legacy will live for a long time in the heart of many.
While commiserating with the immediate family of the late politician, the Oyo state government, the Apc family, the good people of Oyo state and the entire country on the passing of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Association urged Nigerian’s to follow guidelines set aside to fight the current global pandemicy Coronavirus from which Ajimobi contracted and died from due to complications, religiously.
The Association however called on the state government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde to immortalise the name of Senator Abiola Ajimobi who made history as the only Governor that governed Oyo State for 8 years and contributed immensely to the growth and development of Oyo State
