Veteran BCOS News Caster Ronke Fajemirokun Buried Amidst Tears

Dignitaries from all over including the wife of the oyo state Deputy Governor Prof Bola Olaniyan, reknown columnist Festus Adedayo, Chairman Oyo NUJ Demola Babalola,members of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Oyo state council joined families, colleagues, friends of the ace broadcaster Oyeronke Fejemirokun to bid her farewell.

In his sermon at the well attended funeral service held at St Luke Anglican Church, Molete, Ibadan, the vicar of the church Venerable Emmanuel Bolarinwa said the deceased lived a Godly life and also contributed greatly to the spread of the gospel.

He called on governments at all levels to pay more attention to the health sector and if possible declare a state of emergency in the sector so as to avoid unnecessary deaths in the land just like that of Mrs Fajemirokun who seriously fought to stay alive.

Late Ronke Fajemirokun

The husband of the deceased Ola Fajemirokun and two of the children Salewa  Adedipe nee Fajemirokun and Okikiolu Fajemirokun all described late Oyeronke Fajemirokun as a loving wife and caring mother.

The husband of the deceased Ola Fajemirokun and the first child Salewa who almost betrayed their emotion while speaking with Theeyes24 said they will surely missed their mother and wife.

Also, a reknown actress, Toyin Adegbola and the chairman NUJ Oyo state council Com Demola Babalola said the momories of Iya gbogbo as fondly called by admirers will live for long in the mind of many whose life’s she touched.

Com Babalola assured that Late Fajemirokun would be immortalized for her great role in the union while she was alive.

The remains of late Janet Oyeronke Fajemirokun was later interred at the church cementry.

Late Oyeronke Fajemirokun was born on the 14th December 1966 to the family of Pa Sunday Oyelakin Balogun from the popular Balogun Kobomoje family Ibadan and Mrs Elizabeth Abike Balogun from Fagbenro family of Ilero Orile, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

She attended St Anne’s School,Molete, Ibadan and proceeded to University of Ibadan where she obtained degree in Linguistics (Yoruba). She started her carrier with BCOS where she rose to the position of Director news and current affairs. She was redeployed to Simeon Adebo training school as a director. The position he held till her last breadth.

She got married to Dr Olakunle Fajemirokun on 9th Feb 1991 and the marriage was blessed with beautiful children.

Janet Oyeronke Fajemirokun passed away on 24th January 2020 after a brief illness at the age of 53.
