The Oyo State government on Monday unveiled a factional leader of the National Union Of Road And Transport Workers Union Oyo State chapter, Lamidi Mukaila also known as Auxiliary as the chairman of park managers in the state.
Speaking at the launch today (Monday), the state Commissioner for Public
Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja, charged the
managers to discharged their duties without any fear.
The Chairman of the Committee is a former National Union of Road Transport
(NURTW), chairman in the state, Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila popularly known as
‘Auxiliary’, and the Secretary is Alhaji Tajudeen.
It would be recalled that the state government through its Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja, had on Friday dismissed media reports from the leaders of the proscribed Oyo State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) protesting alleged plan by Governor Makinde to appoint Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi (A.k.a Auxiliary) as the state motor parks manager.
Afonja stated emphatically in the press statement obtained by our reporter that
the 33 park managers to be named had no connection with the NURTW.
“Regarding the appointment of Mr. Mukaila aka Auxilliary, as one of the park
managers, he is not. The list of all park managers in each local government
will be unveiled by Monday. Every local government will have a park manager”
the Commissioner reiterated.
