Apc stalwart from ibadan North Local Government constituency z Mr Ademola Alalade has called for more women participation in politics to add more flavour to Nigerias democratic process at various levels.

Alalade who was speaking in London on the conduct of the just concluded general elections which produced fewer women representation at the National and state assemblies.

Alalade who noted the rate of gender imbalance in Nigeria politics  expressed concern of not giving women enough support to aspire to elective positions which according him is denying the country of untapped capacity and talents of women to deliver quality leadership for the country.

He said while women’s participation in politics is growing in many countrys of the world thus helping to advance gender equality and fostering policies that is having positive impact in the lives of most families and most especially women in various constituents, this has not been the case in Nigeria.

He said women are still deeply under-represented in government leadership in the country and this needs to change as democracy requires equal participation of women in all its processes.

He then advised more women to be encouraged to participate in politics by their male counterparts, most especially at the local level so that they can work together to build a strong and sustainable democracy  that will help in solving the numerous problems confronting the country
