A Federal Law maker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon Olaide Akinremi has again come under attack by some desperate individuals, who are frustrated by his continuous acceptance by the people of his constituency for sterling performance he has displayed during his first term in office.
In a statement released today by one of the Federal Law Maker’s close allies, Hon Ademola Alalade, the attack was aimed at discrediting the performance of the serving House of Representative member, who voluntarily offered to help with the re-construction of the pedestrian bridge that links the Alaro and Idito communities in Sango area of Ibadan North Local Government of Oyo State.
According to Alalade, a banner with the picture of Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi, popularly known as Jagaban, was noticed displayed at this location to depict that the Federal Law Maker commissioned the bridge as part of his constituency project a statement which is far from the truth.
Alalade further noted that members of the community approached Hon Olaide Akiremi for his support in re-constructing the bridge which has been neglected for several years by the Oyo State Government and the past leadership of ibadan North Local government, which he obliged by providing the funds needed for the re-construction of the bridge which was to be carried out by the community themselves.
Hon Alalade who said this is not the first time Hon Olaide Akinremi will be committing financial support to projects within his constituency to ensure the good people of Ibadan North enjoy the dividends of democracy without looking back but it has come to our Suprise that a banner with the picture of Honourable Akinremi was displayed around the shabbily re- constructed bridge to show that the federal law maker commissioned the bridge for use by the community, which was an act to discredit Hon Akinremi’s performance
Alalade stated that Hon.Olaide Akinremi has never been to the site of this bridge, neither did any form of commissioning event take place after the community re-constructed the bridge. Interestingly, there are several other intervention projects that are not part of Hon. Olaide Akinremi’s constituency projects but that he has financed over the years, as the current Oyo State and Ibadan North Local Government leaderships have continually failed and disappointed the people of Ibadan North.
The highly focused law maker has committed millions of naira from his personal purse to the repair of faulty transformers, boreholes, drainages and other important facilities across several communities in Ibadan North in a short space of time, and all of these are interventions that are not part of his constituency projects. Important to note is that these communities have reached the current Oyo State Government severally but have repeatedly been ignored.
Alalade however called on those desperate people who are been sponsored by some individuals within the society to desist from cheap propaganda and blackmail as this will not deter nor will it distract Hon Olaide Akinremi from his focus of delivering on his mandate to the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
