A strong member of the All Progressive Congress (Apc) in Oyo State and a House Of Assembly hopeful from Ibadan North Constituency 2 Mr Ademola Alalade has described the recent death of the former Governor of Oyo State Otunba Christopher Alao Akala, as shocking and a great loss to the Political space in the country and indeed to the entire southwest region.
While reacting to the news of the sudden passage of the Ogbomosho born politician, Alalade who id also the Chairman of the Association of Oyo State Indigenes in the United Kingdom described the late Otunba Akala as a man of great integrity who is always looking out for the good of his people.
Alalade praised the effort of the late politician whom he described as peace loving and dependable, in restoring peace among the warring political leaders within the All progressive Congress party, which until his death is still lingering.
He however urged the party leadership of the Apc in Oyo State to use his passage as a rallying point to come together to move the party to greater heights as life in itself is transient and no one should be seen to hold on to trivial things that will further divide the party especially at this very crucial time.
While commiserating with the entire State under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde, the APC family in Oyo State and the immediate Akala Family most especially the former First Lady Mrs Kemi Akala on the passage of the former Governor, urged the people of the state to pray for the soul of the departed.
Alalade then called on the State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde to immortalize the name the late Governor in recognition of his contribution’s to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria in general
